Job Description : |

Duties & Responsibilities : |
Keep refinery linear program up-to-date and configured as close to actual operations as possible. Runs LP cases as needed to respond to S&T, refinery operations, and/or management questions. Reviews and periodically updates processing unit models for accuracy. Runs unit cases as needed to respond to S&T and/or management inquiries. Evaluates crude assay data and inputs into crude assay library. Provide economic analysis of new and existing crude's to S&T as needed. Distributes new crude library book annually. Evaluates available crude's and makes recommendations about crude's, relative values, and recommends offering prices. Determines refinery crude slate which maximizes profits.
Runs projection cases for presentation to management at the monthly PPD meeting. Determines optimum run level given each set of market assumptions and builds multiple cases to bracket the optimum case. Tracks refinery performance on a weekly basis versus PPD Operating Plan and distribute summary report to management and refinery personnel. Prepares 60 day crude, FCC feed, naphtha, vacuum residue, and slurry rundown for review by S&T and Refinery Operations. The rundown is the basic run rate communication document used to coordinate all the interested departments. Evaluates the economics of special products and /or feedstock's and recommends action in the marketplace when appropriate. Completes surveys for industry publications, trade groups and government agencies. Maintains product and raw material prices and other related refinery information for periodic reports, special requests, and review by Economics and Planning and other department personnel. LP and Crude calibrations Evaluates potential new projects and acquisitions as assigned by management. Coordinate preparation of Pasadena refinery charge and yield data and prices for the annual operating plan prepared by Corporate Planning. Blend gasoline, distillates, and other products as needed. Works weekend duty on a rotating basis with other Economics, Planning, and Scheduling department members.
